AOMTrading is a site for people to learn how to trade through class subscriptions. I worked with the founder, Alex Minkovich, to design and implement features for a clean user experience.
I designed class pages, worked on user flows, and integrated my designs into WordPress.
Empathize
In order to understand the wants and needs of the company, Alex and I went over the users of the companies, so I could understand how users would interact with the site. The goal of this website is to provide access to educational trading recources. The challenge is taking complicated concepts and making it more easily approachable for users to begin their journey to learn how to trade. It's important to build trust, confidence, and ease of use for the clients.
Skills and Tools
CSS/HTML
- Navigated through multiple plugins to integrate and customize their appearance using CSS.
- Leveraged HTML to construct custom tab structures and blocks, providing a tailored layout and user interface.
- Developed custom HTML elements to implement specific functionalities that go beyond the standard features offered by WordPress.
PHP
- Implemented secure authentication and authorization systems for user access control.
- Engineered dynamic and interactive web pages by integrating PHP functionality.
- Employed FTP tools like Cyberduck to efficiently manage and customize PHP files, ensuring seamless integration of functionalities.
WordPress
- Built and configured multiple membership levels for enhanced user access control.
- Successfully integrated various plugins to work seamlessly together.
- Implemented a user-centric approach when building functional pages, considering user experience and usability.
- Provided ongoing support and troubleshooting for live users, addressing any issues related to memberships, plugins, or functional pages promptly.
Website Building
Results
After collecting user insights, we learned that customers want supplemental one-on-one help so we worked on integrating tutoring into the AOM Trading website. It is not a class substitution but rather a clarification of classroom materials.
